El Rancherito was first opened in Autumn of 1993, but the concept began back in the late 70´s when Marcos started to learn everything about Mexican recipes. Marcos, the CEO/founder, and with more than 35 years of experience, came up with the idea of a unique and authentic Mexican restaurant. After careful planning to start a family business, Marcos and his wife (Rosario) decided to open El Rancherito, being a combination of restaurant, market and butcher shop. The success was immediate. Residents of the Reseda area embraced El Rancherito for its unique flavor in dishes and special plates, as well as for the great variety of Mexican products and meat cuts, offered all in one location. Ever since then, El Rancherito has become a well known place to eat and shop groceries in the heart of the San Fernando Valley.
Years later, Marcos opened a second El Rancherito in the city of Van Nuys. The concept remains consistent, and the acceptance from local residents have been incredible.
